I had a friend who swore up and down that both Padme and Amidala's double were played by Portman and they used CGI to alter her eyebrows (!) and the rest was just makeup and Portman pitching her voice a bit differently. Never mind that it doesn't make sense not to cast a different actress when the whole point was that the queen is sometimes impersonated by a handmaiden. We were teenagers and she was one of those people you can't argue with because it just doesn't occur to them that they could ever be wrong. I take a bit of a personal stake in Knightly's whole career because it proves I was right.
