She was friends with some of my friends and was doing something at a comic con we were all going to, where I was sharing a hotel room with our mutual friend. She was having a bad day at the con and asked our mutual friend if she could come up to our hotel room so she could talk about it. She ended up crying in our shared hotel room and venting about a guy at the con who was harassing her, who surprisingly, I knew and went to school with and had harassed me too, and we bonded over that and then she hung with us the rest of the con so the guy would leave her alone.

We became friends after that and didn't start dating until like, three years after that, but yeah. That is our riveting meet-cute.
