Re: For OC writers!

I don't know if this helps. But a person I RP with frequently has an OC, and we sometimes do a poly relationship between her OC, my canon character, and the canon character we share. The dynamic usually revolves around her character and the shared character being in love with my canon character, but in different ways, and those two having more of a friends with benefits dynamic.

And her character is super sexual and very submissive, mine is pretty sexual and a switch (but more dominant with these two), and the other canon character is kind of naive and willing to do anything. So a lot of the dynamic revolves around her character and my character dragging him into things and trying to show him new things and get him interested in them.

And we've also done a thing with two of her OCs and two canon characters. But that's not a relationship thing and mostly a non-con thing (except between the two canon characters).

That's pretty neat, but I was also wondering like, how do they feel about each other? Or how like having the person they like also being involved with someone else? You mentioned two people like a third in different ways, what are those ways?

Well, the canon character I play is extremely possessive and would probably be annoyed if the two of them were doing relationship things on their own. He's also pretty attached to both of them, but in different ways. Her OC is very submissive and asked to be owned by my character, so he sees him as a possession, but he also does care for him in his own way. He's developed feelings for the other canon character that he doesn't want to have but can't help.

Her OC is pretty intelligent and realizes there are things up with my canon character. He's in love with my character in spite of knowing he isn't quite who he says he is and has a really big dark side. He's really totally in love with my character for the dark side, not in spite of it. And he likes the other canon character a lot, not in a romantic way per say. But he's happy to sleep with anyone he can and likes that the three of them do things together. He's not in love with the other character, but he likes him a lot (to the point that in this AU he saves his life later on).

The other canon character suspects nothing of my character. He's totally and completely in love. And my character hides the darkness from him, mostly (though sometimes he shows it and then has excuses). And he's pretty inexperienced when it comes to relationships, but he wants the other two to be happy. He's attracted very much to the OC and also cares for him a lot.

Basically, my canon character is the only one with a jealous streak. He's fine with everything as long as he's involved or it is just friendly stuff or maybe kissing. But he'd be upset about anything more than that between her OC and the other canon character just by themselves without his permission. He just needs his role in this to be understood. He's in charge and they need permission. He's a villain in disguise, so he's not the nicest of people. He pretends to be, though. And he's way more attached to the other two than he ever expected to be.

What would happen to the relationship if the other canon character found out about the whole darkness thing?

Pretty much the way it happens in canon, except that her OC gets him away and hides him to save his life. We tend to play it in the middle of things, but we do have the ends plotted out.
