I thought the exact same about it making more sense for pidge to be a trans girl instead. But regardless she shows no probs IDing as a girl, so why cant she just be a cool gender non conforming one I thought. I always figured creators made her a girl bc it was more inclusive to the little girls who watch netflix for kids in the morning before school, and gave her the "caught you thinking she was a boy!" Plot, because her original character was male. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I personally would have liked her to be obviously female from the start but I suppose it was their way of a homage?

As for the Pidge and They scenario, if that someone if referencing that screencap of the alien saying to Pidge "Scrawny arent they?" I bought the comic, and the screencap of the alien referring to Pidge as " they" had actually cut off the whole team so credit sadly wasnt due there :P
