I've been an absolute mess. I went from loving the series to dreading it within a few months. I hate everything about syringebowl. I hate that Erwin was passed over for youth and dreams about seeing the ocean. I hate that Bertholdt was never given any agency or depth. They both deserved better.

I... sort of liked the idea of it, if only because of the angst potential. But I agree with you that it's a shitshow. Like, it's a horrible decision to have to make, but there is no logic to choosing Armin anyway, and tbh I don't for an instant believe that he survived that blast. I don't much believe Erwin was still alive either... The whole thing was a mess. It also frustrates me because it could have been a serious opportunity for discussion and character development. Instead we get a pissing contest.
Also I hate what a fucking huge deal Isayama makes of Armin.

Erwin is/was one of the most interesting characters so I'm pretty pissed. His eyebrows will be missed.
That said, I'm happy he got to die with Levi present. I felt it was very fitting to both their character arcs. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure this means Levi will be next. :/

And maybe now all the Eruri and Ereri shippers will STFU about their pairing being superior/canon over the other.
Speaking of shipping, I'm kinda shipping Hanji/Mikasa now.

I haven't been paying close attention and might have accidentally skipped a chapter or two, but is there a reason why Levi couldn't have used the serum on both?

What happened with Hanji and Mikasa?

Hanji restrained Mikasa from behind, but then it kinda turned into an awkward hug cuz she was trying to calm Mikasa down (and Mikasa was cool with it)

The latest chapters have shown me that Armin haters are a thousand times more terrible than his fans, and Bertholdt fans are the worst. I'm happy for now and all I want is for the manga to end with Erin, Armin, and Mikasa living happily ever after together by the sea. I want everyone who loves deep and edgy characters who are so deep we don't even know their motives to throw an epic fit.

I mean *Eren. I know how to spell.

well I have had the complete opposite experience. all EMA fans I have encourted have been awful (including you).

but... we do know their motives?

usually I'd agree, deep and edgy characters can be extremely annoying, but it's the environment and context that either brakes or makes them

Eren is a textbook martyr (I'm not saying it's bad), and he is never gonna be happy, because he's been so focused on vengeance... it's all he knows

I think that twist is very predictable and boring. Erwin dying makes sense but the execution is horrible and though I love Armin I don't like how idealistic he still turns out to be. The author can't seem to decide between gritty "realism" and idealistic shounen tone. I would have liked it if they both die and other characters are given spotlights and developement (Sasha, Connie, maybe give Mikasa some actual character) or there was no syringe at all.

I'm pretty "eeeeeeh...." on it too. On the one hand I'm glad Armin is alive, but on the other Erwin had to go and that sucks. I liked the both.

And on the other other hand we still don't know what's up with the titans, the whole political stuff was pretty boring (for me) because it felt very black and white to me (these bunch of old assholes are taking resources because they are EVIIIL) and all that. I did like the stuff before when they had to go in hiding and what happened later.

Isayama's writing has a very self rightous tone. Like I can handle it in small doses, but it does occasionally get on my nerves.
