this. I typically only see stay-at-home moms refer to motherhood as a job when people start ragging on them for being stay-at-home moms and talk about how easy it is and that they wish they could "laze around home all day" too.

I don't have kids, but I've babysat multiple children under the age of four for prolonged periods of time and I would slit my wrists before I did something like that on a long term basis. unless you're straight up neglecting your kids, being a stay-at-home-parent takes a lot of work
