In my circles it came out, made waves for a couple of days then left.

Has it really revived the fandom that much? All of my former Harry Potter fans were interested, but the excitement died down very quickly.

Luckily it hasn't taken over my dash as I feared so far... but instead those Ilvermorny houses did.
But hey, those uncreative 'let's put green tinted pics together and put a snake in there somewhere and call it Slytherin aesthetic' posts for the houses and characters have never left my dash, sooooo.

At least the play gave me the only thing I kind of cared about in my general apathetic towards HP state (Albus' house and friendship with Scorpius) and a few very good cackles.

Yeah...apparently it was a "steaming pile of crap that in no way added to the original series and wasn't even written by her", so I wouldn't count on it.

My mother and I have always bonded over HP, and we bonded even harder on this. Her exact words: "Tortured fanfic".

(I try not to think about my mother reading fic, but I gave her internet access, and...kids will be kids, I guess.)

I think the story is so batshit, and so few people will have the opportunity to see the actual play that it's not really going to make very much difference to the fandom overall.
