I would've been all over this if Sam Rockwell's love interest had been someone his own age.

Oh wow. I just IMDB'd him because I assumed he was late 20's early 30's (I don't know him from Adam).

Still, 17 years isn't a huge gap, and it's not hinted/noticeable that their characters even have a gap, let alone one that big.

It's a pretty significant gap, especially considering how few actresses Rockwell's age get parts like Kendrick's.

The fact that they don't mention it is even more annoying. Like it's so common and expected that it's not even worth mentioning.

I loved this movie so much, OP.

(And I've always liked Anna Kendrick, but like the OP of secret one, I feel I'm experiencing Anna Kendrick fatigue. I'm tired of seeing her in everything.) But even so, I really did like her here as Martha.

Personally, I thought of it like a modern take on Life Without Dick (with Sarah Jessica Parker and Harry Connick, Jr.) but then I've never seen Grosse Pointe Blank.

I should watch Live Without Dick? I've vaguely heard of it but never seen it!

I think it's a fun romp if you go in not expecting too much. It has my recommendation.

Is this a reboot of the Ann Magnuson/John Malkovich film from 1987?

The only movie I can find from that year for those two is 'Making Mr. Right' about a scientist building a robot version of himself, so I'm pretty sure, no?

Not unless they REALLY fucked up the plot. XD
