Re: World of Warcraft
(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 12:58 am (UTC)(link)I think you may be right - because in the Horde cutscene for the Demon Hunters, Vol'Jin is clearly been injured. (And yes, my jaw dropped with that one - just not as badly with Varian) And ooh, that would be nice (and a quick glance at the Achievement page - there is no leader listed for us to kill. It's only four ::sad face:: But then, there's Gnome leader listed for the Horde to kill so make of that as you will)
And that is the perfect sum up of Jaina right now. And I shall join you in the countdown. (I can see Arthas wondering what the fuck he ever saw in her at this point)
Re: World of Warcraft
If I think too much about what's happened to Jaina I get sad and then angry, just, why her game? Why?
Re: World of Warcraft
(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)And there should have been a no before the Gnome - typed too fast. But yeah, it's weird that they don't have those two particular factions listed (but then, they are missing a couple of others so make of that what you will)
I know! Jaina was one of our few female faction leaders who actually kicked ass and now.. Sliding down that slippery slope.. I'm hoping that someone takes her aside and gives her a quick dose of reality before it's too late. Maybe they could have Arthas' ghost appear before her and give her a talk...?
Re: World of Warcraft
Ugh, UGH. Just. Jaina was always the peace-keeper, was always able to rise above the bad she had witnessed(or had done to her) and if they had actually shown her being worn down over the years I could take it, I'd probably still hate it on some level but at least narratively it'd make sense. But this? She looses it in a patch and that's it, she's evil forever and it's just such a disservice to her character.
I'd love if they could somehow save her but considering how cartoonishly villainous she is atm I just don't see it, and I'm not going to enjoy it when we do take her down. I'll just be sad.
Re: World of Warcraft
(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 01:41 am (UTC)(link)Shall be interesting ::firm nod:: But I'll save that investigating for my father, heh. He's the Horde player for the most part. I play Alliance. Makes for interesting discussions XD
Exactly. Ever since Garrosh bombed Theramore, she's been batshit nuts. I miss the old Jaina. (I'm naively hoping that this is a Black Dragon imposter and the real Jaina's off somewhere, unaware of what this imposter has done to her reputation. Allow me my delusions regarding her, please, Blizzard)
Re: World of Warcraft
The worst part about the bombing is that she came back from that, in a book but still, it happened because even in-game she was okay again. Then the Sunreaver betrayal happened and nope, that's apparently what sets her off permanently. /sigh
Ha, I think I might adopt that line of thinking. No it's not Jaina, it's like a dreadlord in disguise, the real Jaina retired years ago and is letting the rest of you fuckers clean up this mess.
Re: World of Warcraft
(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 02:11 am (UTC)(link)Ditto - I mainly play Alliance but I have a few Blood Elves (and one Tauran. I think she's a Holy Cow ::clears throat:: er, Paladin)
Ah, yes, I forgot the Sunreaver bullshit. (Did we ever get in-game confirmation that they did it or did Jaina just go "you are Horde, Horde evil, kill"?)
An excellent idea!
Re: World of Warcraft
I can never forget *eye twitches*. I think it was just 'you Horde, kill Horde' and that was it. Which is yanno, fantastic writing. A+.
Re: World of Warcraft
(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 03:09 am (UTC)(link)my Alliance are as follows: Night Elf, Human, Worgan, Draenai, and I think Panda. Tried Gnome/Dwarf - couldn't get into them. (The moment the female Goblin laughed during the opening quest chain for Goblins, I promptly logged and deleted her - nails on chalkboard. Ugh.)
Oh, totally, the best ever. (Ranks right up there with Jean's "lion of my heart" from Kitty's X-Men Fairy Tale. Fantastic writing there. Ugh.)
And let's toss in Maiev as a possible Raid boss option. She just pisses me off for some reason. (I'm sure Illidan would love to see her as a Raid boss, I wouldn't mind if he did a kill steal)
