Wait, so being a princess in Kingdom Hearts has nothing to do with royalty, it's just... some weird soul purity thing? Can boys not be born without darkness? That's... weird.

Is there only one heart shaped moon, or multiple?

Does Blimp Man ever get to turn back, or is he... just a blimp now?

So far as I know, boys are never born as princesses, because Disney is still super gendered. There is a male character whose darkness was artificially removed, but since he wasn't born that way, he's not a princess per se.

At the point I've gotten to in the series, only one Kingdom Hearts is confirmed. However, there's a lot of talk about how darkness is necessary and makes up half of the universe. Kingdom Hearts is heavily associated with light, so I would not be surprised if there turned out to be a dark version of it.

The last I heard of Blimp Man, he tried to possess Riku and failed. I think that version of him is gone, but then another version of him shows up through time travel.

This is fun!

So there's only one Kingdom Hearts, despite the plural name?

Wait, why can the Blimp possess people?

It's one Kingdom, but it's the place where all the hearts go, thus Kingdom Hearts.

The power of darkness can be used to possess people. Thing is, most people have hearts that consist primarily of light, which gives them a natural resistance to darkness-based possession. This means novice darkness-users like Riku have the worst of both worlds--they've already worn away their darkness resistance, but they haven't picked up the power and experience to fight master darkness-users on an equal footing. (It's pretty impressive on Riku's part that he's alive and unpossessed at this point, and he went through all manner of hell to get this far.)
