Critics don't mean shit. Marvel movies are mediocre. The only genuinely good ones are Iron Man, Winter Soldier, GOTG, and Ant-Man. the rest of their movies are quip infused messes with varying characterization from movie to movie. People act like they are works of art when they're generic as shit.

DC movies are shit too. But Marvel isn't this savior people make them out to be. Their smugness over their okay-ness is more of a turn off then anything. At least DCU fans are dumbass delusional with their capekino comments but I'll take that over smugness.

Also wtf do you mean number stats. Do you not know how averages work? More numbers = better chance at a higher mean.

"Critics don't mean shit."

How about money? Civil War (a Captain America movie) made 1,151,887,060.

Batman V Superman (aka a movie with the BIGGEST Superhero names that should have made ALL the money in the world) made 872,662,631.

An R-Rated Superhero comedy that didn't even have a Chinese box office made 782,603,445.

Okay? 50 shades and Twilight made a lot of money, that doesn't mean they're quality?

So how do you define a good movie? Your personal opinion? If so, I think Transformers 3 is one of the greatest movies ever. Right up there with The Shawshank Redemption.

Cool straw man.

A well put together plot, lack of plot holes, consistent characterization where characters aren't reduced to one-note quip machines and if there adaptations at least capture the idea of what they're based on.

And SA I didn't even say they're bad movies. Just mediocre and anyone saying otherwise is kidding themselves.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-12 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Again, critics gave them good scores. Which means they likely have a good plot, few plot holes, etc. etc.

But you said, "Critics don't mean shit." And that box office also means nothing.

So, I can only assume for you, a good movie is only a movie YOU enjoy personally.

lmao no. AoU is the biggest ur example. People have picked apart what a mess, inconsistent disaster that movie is yet critics gave it a good score. I actually enjoy some of those mediocre movies. I'm just calling a spade a spade. In spite of my enjoyment they are mediocre. They are not these hype super awesome savior of movies people make them out to be.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-12 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
So the answer is yes, a movie is good if you think it is good regardless of critics or box office. I don't know why you are talking around that. That is how people should enjoy movies. But don't pretend that your personal opinion proves that a movie is terrible (especially when the majority disagree).

Dear lord you're dense.

You don't have to be a cook to know you're eating shit. You can enjoy it and there's nothing wrong with it. I love a bunch of shitty stuff. But don't get on a high horse when other people are enjoying their own shit. Which is EXACTLY what MCU fans do hence why their smugness is unbarable.
