"those flaws almost made them greater"

LOL this is such awful prose, and also, not true. Snape's flaws were that he was a horrible, miserable asshole. No Harry, that didn't make him greater.

Betcha the 'flaw' that they had in mind was that he loved Lily too much.

Yeah, I mean stepping away from the Snape-wank a bit -- can I just say while Rowling has her issues with clunky prose, don't get me wrong, there is no way anyone with a handful of novels under their belt wrote this shit and still looks at themselves in the mirror. This sort of terrible dialogue was literally all over the script. It's so clearly not her work.

Don't you know? Joining the Nazis and abusing minority schoolchildren are flaws that only make you greater!

(Anonymous) 2016-08-13 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Your comparison would better a fit if said Nazi helped defeat Hitler and end World War II.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-14 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
They'd still be a Nazi though.

Yeah, like Oskar Schindler.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-14 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a good comparison, since he did this primarily for his own monetary gain. He didn't do this for good reasons and if he spent the rest of his life abusing Jewish children, then fuck him.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-14 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Schindler spent most of his fortune to keep his workers safe, you ignoramus
