People don't seem to make any assumptions at all about me. I don't get people assuming I'm queer but I can't remember anyone ever seeming even slightly surprised to find out that I am. I have no idea why. I'm not exactly a queer stereotype.

Maybe you just aren't picking up on people's radars because you're not a highly sexual person in general?

I've always kind of equated gaydar as perceiving who wants to bone you lol.

That would explain why my gaydar is non-existent, since I'm really oblivious about who's into me.

Hmm. I'm a bi woman and my gaydar only works with gay men. I could trip over a lesbian and wouldn't realise it unless she actually told me. True story--at one of my previous schools an EA and I were watching the busses load; the EA says something to me about the lone female bus driver being a lesbian. Once she told me, I could see it (very much a butch lesbian), but yeah, didn't pick up on that one. I'm pretty sure I've never picked up anyone who's bi. But I've been in conferences and other gatherings of people and my gaydar has pinged gay men (and I was later able to confirm they were gay.)

So, I guess mine works for people who would never have any interest in boning me. LOL

Interesting.

I hear it's fairly common for lesbians to not be able to pick out other lesbians (it's a very usual complaint that it's hard to find dates because gay women can't find other gay women). Plus there's that whole "lesbian bed death" thing which may or may not be a myth, don't ask me, I've seen the argument from people who insist it is and people who insist it's not.

I don't know a whole heck of a lot about lesbians lol.
