Is the movie any good? I like the top cast but 6.8 on imdb...

I thought so but I know nothing about the source material. It was gorgeous and the acting was fantastic.

Acting wise, it's pretty good across the board despite the performances not being super memorable.

I do recommend seeing it for the gorgeous cinematography, tho.

How do you feel about shaky cam?

I kid, I kid, but there is some and it is mockery-worthy. I also didn't enjoy how the characters mumbled and grumbled through the dialogue. Otherwise it was good.

It's awful, and I say that as someone who adores Fassbender and was incredibly excited to see him as Macbeth. But the directing in this movie is a nightmare.

The performances from Fassbender and Cotillard were good, and Paddy Considine was good, too. The direction wasn't so great. There were so many "hey, let's show the mountains and the landscape" moments that it slowed the story to a screeching halt on too many occasions. If you like Fassbender, I'd recommend it, but if you're not a huge Shakespeare fan, it's one you can skip.
