To be fair, King Arthur isn't actually history, he's myth, and some parts of those myths are distinctly later medieval and read like it, outfitting the legends in what would have been familiar to the authors at the time. You could date Arthur anywhere from Roman Britain to the Crusading period, and since it's a mythology rather than a history you could get away with it.
