What's sad about the Weight Watchers thing is that this attitude is coming from people who used to be fat themselves. Like, have they forgotten how it felt? But still, it's minor compared to what you're dealing with--certainly I don't have the pressure to participate from someone acting, like your caseworker, in an official capacity. That seriously sucks.

I don't think I'd have the confidence to turn up to a place looking for help, especially about something that made me feel vulnerable. I'm only in this program because I got signed up by the hospital.

Ugh. People can get ridiculous about health stuff. Full on denial, complaining that you're not trying hard enough, have you tried this natural supplement? It worked for so and so! The people who have the most to say about me being disabled are usually older women, with their own chronic health problems. The hypocrisy. :/

Would they really be so pigheaded that they'd ignore the concerns you've expressed here if you put them in an email, or maybe a letter? I mean, you've written about your frustrations with this program, but you've also been evenhanded about its value--for raw beginners who need to learn the basics from the ground up. I can just picture a scenario in which the caseworker just won't stop nagging you, because of course she knows you'll enjoy it if you'll only come out of your shell and give it a try.

I'll have to see. It's early days with this for me yet. They do encourage people to continue discussing their needs with them, so we'll find out I guess. Hopefully we'll find some middle ground.
Thanks for the advice.
