I get what you mean, but I had to quit that site the way a teatotaler quits alcohol because I had no self-control or ability to read it in moderation and would be on there for HOURS finding out what each term meant and reading all the examples.

I had to quit going on TV Tropes for the same reason. I definitely spent a few nights with a million tabs open, just clicking through examples.

A teetotaler? Do you mean an alcoholic? A teetotaler wouldn't need to quit in the first place

(I absolutely get what you mean about the site though! It's worse than Wikipedia. So many links, so many tabs...)

I assumed they meant 'when they stopped drinking alcohol they had to go teetotal' but rereading I see what you mean
