Shemar Moore chose to leave the show last season. He just wanted to go on and do other things with his life and felt it was the right time for him to bow out.

Oh. At least he's not out because of some asshattery he did. As sad as it is that he's leaving, I hope he'll find something interesting to do.

Yeah, thankfully his exit was for totally good reasons, and the show was able to take the time to put together a proper goodbye arc for him that he seemed pretty satisfied with. So yay for that, at least.

I miss him, too, though, definitely. Especially considering the close friendships he had with Garcia and Reid. Hard to really replicate that. But yeah, best of luck to him in future endeavors. And he has said that he's totally open to making guest appearances where possible on the show in the future, so I imagine we'll see him again someday :D.
