If we had no prequels, we wouldn't have my favorite character or the awesome clone wars show. so i'm grateful at least that much.

I hate that her Funko is like 200$ >_< she has so little merchandise, and practically nothing from TCW.

I loved Padme right up until she died of a broken heart like a frickin' Victorian penny dreadful heroine, minus the Space-Tuberculosis. I still love the character, but her ending pissed me off so much that it kind of ruins the rest of it for me. YMMV, obviously.

Yeah, I don't blame anyone for turning sour on her because of that. this is SPACE, you really shouldn't die of childbirth let alone a broken heart.

It's really the clone wars show where I love her, and the potential she /had/ in the prequels, yanno?

Not just the blasting shoot em ups of 'aggressive negotiations', but her political stuff.

I'd be the first to admit that Star Wars fandom is catty as hell, but when people complain about Lucas' writing they have a point. He had to invalidate the previous canon that Leia had childhood memories of her mother in order to cram that tired "death by pining" cliché in there.
