Idk, I've always found the, "hero automatically turns villian" trope really lazy and boring, especially in this case. If you HAD to make Steve a villian, do it either by showing him slowly over time becoming corrupted, or make him evil by not going against what his entire character and ideals stand for. Because at that point, the whole thing reeks of bad fanfiction and ooc characters.
