04 - You know, that secret really made me think. I'm a professed Rinoa-hater, but the genderswap thing made think about it good and hard. I finally decided that if their sexes were switched, I would actually hate her MORE. The idea of a shy, emotionally insecure male Quistis pining after a strong, silent lady Squall (who is meanwhile being pursued by an outspoken, overly persistant male Rinoa) breaks my heart. And I don't SHIP Squall/Quistis, I just prefer him with her than Rinoa. Even if there was no male Quistis, that plot would still be way, way, way too cliche and obviously male-oriented (even though it's a video game...). I never believed her when she said her feelings for him were sisterly. So, to each their own, I suppose.
