Oh fuck this. Fuck this. Fuck This. FUCK THIS!

"Acting like a gay..." is one of the most harmful things to perpetuate outside of hate and actual violence. It's harmful for gay people. It's harmful for straight people. It's harmful to everybody. FUCK THAT NOISE.

Me: kisses my wife
Somebody: damn that's gay
U: THE HORROR!!!!

But in all seriousness I think you can probably think critically and see the difference between coding/recognizing behavior (there's a reason lots of non straight people become friends even if they don't know if they're not straight) and harmful prescriptive shit. Cmon now my friend

Hmmm, I don't remember Holtzman kissing anybody in Ghostbusters, so you're drawing shit-ass comparisons and my point still stands.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
If you think the only way to know for sure whether somebody's gay is whether or not you've seen them kiss somebody of the same sex then you've got a very weird idea of what homosexuality is my friend

(Anonymous) 2016-08-15 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering about 4% of the population is gay, it isn't that odd of an assumption.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-15 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you trying to argue that because there are statistically more straight people than gay people you have to literally see somebody engaging in Homosexual Contact to be "sure" they're gay

ah good, the straights are here to defend heteronormativity

As she was written as gay it seems likely the actress was playing her that way.

It's really bizarre how fiercely straight people are "defending" gay people in this thread and just sorta making asses of themselves talking about shit they don't understand. Straight people have decided gaydar is stereotyping gays? Like...learn subtext or butt out, please?

*snerk* We do have gay communities and a gay culture, which includes a whole mess of body language and verbal code that we use in safe spaces with each other.
