nayrt to, but historically these been hundreds of gay actors who played straight roles just fine, and more recently vice versa. I mean, the whole point of acting is...acting.

sure, but we're talking about how to read a specific role that's presented in a specific way played by a specific actress, in a case where we've already acknowledged the character in question doesn't present as classically cis/het/feminine.

i agree with the broader point you're making.
