...goddammit. I was considering watching it for the lesbian character because literally everyone has mentioned it. And it's not even canon?

Nope. It's easy to headcanon, but she's not explicitly a lesbian.

Given that the only "explicitly stated" sexual/romantic interest in the entire movie is Erin's one-sided crush on Kevin, it's also really easy to say that it's not NOT canon.

I know that's not the same as Actually Saying The Thing, but it's really hard for me to see anything else.
