We all have our fantasies! For some people it is winning a million dollars, for others it is being a vampire slayer.

I'm 23 and spent a recent bus trip listening to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and mentally inserting myself as an OC throughout. So.

Hello, fellow Jedi/Hogwarts student/Pokemon trainer/Starfleet captain!

I'm 31 and the same way. I feel no shame about it. It helps me relax, I sleep better if I daydream first, and I just enjoy imagining myself a part of different fandoms. Nothing wrong with that.

Rock on.

I still pretend I'm a princess, sailor senshi, and digidestined. There's nothing wrong with playing pretend.
bur: Gor! It's Anakin with a baby impaled on his lightsaber!! The horror, the horror. (GOR!)

I'm in my thirties and do JoJo poses to psych myself up, so. You know. Can't get more embarrassing than your boss walking in on you when you're positioned like you're on the cover of a Vogue magazine.

I see nothing wrong with this! <3

I have various fantasies and I think I probably still will when I hit 40.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-17 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm confused. You mean there are people who DON'T do this? I'm in my 30s and all my peers have things like this going on.

I'm in my 30s, and I hope I never stop imagining myself as a Starfleet captain/space pirate/Decepticon soldier/Ranger/superhero. :) That's a big part of what fiction is for, isn't it?

33, do this, don't see myself ever stopping. It's a great time killer.

Echoing the general sentiment in here, OP :). We all deserve to have a fun little mental fantasy break from time to time.

I'm coming up to 30 and I can't see myself not day-dreaming about my favourite characters going on wacky adventures or imagining what I'd be if I was in a fictional setting.

[personal profile] dahli 2016-08-18 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
That is so sweet. You go have fun, OP.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-18 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
I don't see anything wrong with that. Let's face it, real life is pretty boring for probably 95% of people. It's fun to imagine that your life is more exciting than it really is.

Rock on! I'm thirty and in my fantasies I will likely always be a keyblade wielding, water-bending, dragonborn, black-ribboner vampire hobbit from Hufflepuff with a team full of my favorite Pokemon and my own airship.

Ya'll are making me feel old because I'm in my 50s and do this. At least I'm in good company.

Okay

(Anonymous) 2016-08-18 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'm over forty myself and I don't think I've done the Companion (Doctor Who never really clicked with me), but throw in Royalty, Movie Star, Acclaimed Writer, Rock Star, Fairy, Vampire, Werewolf, Detective, Mutant, etc. and I'm totally with you.

Late 30s, super-powerful sorceress.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-18 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
39 here, but same, OP.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-18 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I'm in my mid 40s and I think I've gone through being an Amazonian princess of Themscyra, a Starfleet ensign, a hobbit, a Companion, a Jedi Knight, ...

...actually, if I wrote out all the stuff I've imagined I've been, people would be keeling over from the teal deer.

You do you, OP, and don't be ashamed of it. An active fantasy life is a great cushion against boredom.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-18 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think there's anything wrong with that and I'm over 50.

My mother, who at that point was in her late 50's, ssaid she still imagined being a princess.

I'm pretty sure I'll get there, too.
