If the OP talked to her regularly as friends when she was a BNF, and knew her by her real name through that, it'd need some explaining but would probably get a pass.

But if OP was just a lurker fan? Way creepy, especially since this person is ibviously trying to distance herself from that BNF username.

I don't think so. It's no different than getting a card or a call from someone you went to high school with.

Its pretty different imo - because you are likely aware that someone you went to high school with existed and know people who were their friends, which is not a guarantee online

And even then, if someone I never spoke to or had any interaction with in high school suddenly called me, I would be weirded out
