I have no stake in the HTP debate, but I 100% agree raunchy kinky bloodplay bdsm doesn't need the noncon vibe. Tbh, I'm pretty tired of all the straight up rape fics in fandom right now. I'm not saying I need my otp to be safe, I'm not saying they need to be sane, I'm just saying I'd them to be a bit more consensual.

Oh god yes. When did noncon/rape become such a huge fandom thing? It's...kind of creeping me out. Consensual =/= vanilla! There's tons of people IRL who do consensual blood/knife/fire/what have you play in real life! You can have all that stuff consensually in your OTP!
