Re: Sibling complaints
(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 08:32 am (UTC)(link)Now that day I was sick with the flu, running a fever and coughing my lungs out. It was also one of the hottest and most humid days of the year. My mother called me to tell me she wanted me to drive directly to the airport to get them, because the bus was apparently parked a little out of the way and they would have to walk to get to it. Now the walking wasn't the problem but there was supposed to be a thunderstorm and she didn't want to walk in the rain. Boo hoo.
Telling her I was sick didn't really work. So I got in the car, drove to the airport and waited around in the searing heat. And on the way back, even though I definitely looked like shit and told them several times I was not feeling well, the friends my mother had me pick up along with her wouldn't stop talking at me demanding my attention and me making conversation with them. And I was about to snap because the heat and the fever and everything were enough of a strain on my attention on the road as it was and those old nagging ladies wouldn't shut up.
(The thunderstorm, of course, did not happen. Not a single drop of rain.)
