Because people only get out the pitchforks for those who actually care enough to be hurt by said pitchforks.

That's why major studios/networks/etc can just plunk a person of color/transperson/gay person in the middle of a plotline and get heaps of praise for it while indie creator who mostly pays the bills waitressing has to worry a lot about writing a poc/trans/gay character because she's going to get screamed at and blacklisted for a small mistake (what constitutes a mistake is determined by who yells first and loudest and heartfelt apologies only make it worse).

I'm not saying you're wrong, but (as I said below) I'm not sure what that has to do with this secret.

Oh it really doesn't, I was just responding to the person I responded to if that makes sense.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
ah that does make sense. sorry for the confusion then!

It baffles me that people think that yelling at, condemning, or otherwise implying that they're somehow wrong or morally inferior for not writing vers fic will convince large swathes of people to write vers porn that they don't personally find hot. Has this ever worked in any significant way?

Which of those things is OP doing

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Which of those things did I say OP was doing? I was talking about the people chardmonster was talking about.

Chard's post was in response to your post, which was in response to OP, so I took the conversation in general to be replying to OP. I apologize if that was incorrect.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that last one wasn't. Sorry if it came off like I was accusing OP in particular. OP isn't screaming at anyone or anything like that. I was speaking broadly about the people who do and how people treat the whole argument over "slash fandom and yaoi tropes"
