Why do people want it to be bad? Honest question, I haven't seen much beyond one short trailer and reviews.

Personally I don't like the way they treated the animators but I don't know what most people on Tumblr are talking about.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the reasons why might be different from person to person.

As someone who hates that whole Judd Apatow crew (Rogen, Franco, Hill) and wants their no-talent asses to go away, that's my reason.

From what I've seen off Tumblr and such, because they think it is a gross dudebro humor movie. And those should not exist or be supported.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's something you grow out of. Dudebros are the worst to deal with especially in college when you think you're past all that immature shit, but no it's only just beginning.

I have a friend who loves that sort of "crude offensive dudebro" humor, and even he admitted that this movie looks stupid and he has no interest in seeing it. So I guess that goes to show that it's failing to appeal to even that demographic.

The script was leaked and it seemed so utterly full of incredibly juvenile humor that it gave the impression of an animated Adam Sandler movie.
I've also heard rumor that the animators were treated like absolute shit and many were left off the credits, but I don't have anything to back that up. If someone else does, please link.

As far as I can tell it's still all anonymous because they claim they're worried having their names associated with the allegations will hurt their careers, but here: http://variety.com/2016/film/news/sausage-party-animators-unpaid-overtime-1201838425/

Adam Sandler movies make bank though. No reason to hate it for that.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Reason to expect it to be a shitty movie.

Sandler movies make bank because they're a money-making scam

I know a bunch of /co/mrades (including myself) wanted it to do poorly because they don't want the template for "adult" animation in the U.S. to be this kind of "lolweed, sex, swears" humor, they want animated movies with actual adult themes and characters and plots.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm really not a fan of how "animation for adults" is apparently "crude and offensive humor"

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt

You can blame Seth MacFarlane for popularizing that shit.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

Oh, believe me, I already do.

Except South Park started before any of McFarlane's stuff.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I stopped watching years ago, but from what I've seen of the more recent episodes, it feels like it's trying to force itself farther and farther into that category than the early episodes did.

I guess when it first started, it was a matter of the novelty of a cartoon with that sort of humor existing, but now that there are a ton of those, it's just trying to top them.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-21 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
At least the South Park movie was both.
