No, because Lance is an asshole and treats Keith like shit. Like dude, we all know that you have self esteem issues and you know deep down that you aren't worth a shit, but don't take it on Keith.

Also nice racism assuming that Keith is White when his race hasn't been confirmed and his last name has been a Japanese one in previous Voltron series.

I've seen klance shippers claim klance is more progressive than Sheith because Lance is a POC. Never mind that Shiro is, y'know, Japanese. But when you point that out to them, they bring out the old "white passing!!!" card. rme.

I have to wonder what they think about Hunk/Lance. Technically it's even more progressive since Hunk is plus-sized, darker-skinned than Lance and even more obviously a POC, and if he's Hawaiian like people think then it's also just as much of an interracial relationship as Klance. If social justice really was their concern like they claim it is, that should be the pairing to go for, but obviously they don't really give a shit and are just virtue-signaling to make themselves look good over something as petty as shipping.

I still like Lance despite everything, and I'm willing to give Klance a second chance if the characters change over the course of the show, but the way he acts towards Keith right now is still that of a bully plain and simple.

WHAT. As an Asian I find that a revoltingly racist thing to say. It's shocking how much Asians people are considered acceptable punching bags on Tumblr for all the site likes to talk about progressiveness and fighting racism.

We're treated like props to be trotted out and for people to pretend to care about to justify tearing someone they don't like down but as soon as we actually speak out on legitimate issues of racism that affect us directly we get told to shut up because we're model minorities and other races have to deal with worse like it's some stupid zero-sum game.

Or worse, they don't even try to pretend and just go all-out with the racism then pull the "POCs can't be racist" card as an excuse.

Yeah, the Voltron fandom is surprisingly racist towards Asians. I've also seen some demonize those who sexualize Keith/Shiro over Lance/Hunk because "they're white guys". Like, you can't whip out the whole "fandom only cares about white cock" tirade when one of those characters is not even fucking white. It's just gross all around.

Most assholes aren't abusive, they're just assholes. But there's no scale between 100% good and 100% bad for you anymore. Asshole = abuser = irredeemable committer of every other sin known to mankind.
