They are teenage rivals and they bicker a lot, it goes both ways. This show is pretty good with character development because they're clearly growing to like and respect each other. Their relationship is becoming warmer, they start smiling at each other and help each other... bickering doesn't stop tho.

The rivalry was confirmed as "one-sided" in an interview with the producers, it mostly stems from Lance's insecurities. Not to say Keith doesn't dish it back but most of the time it's Lance who instigates this shit, and you can't exactly blame Keith for not being nice to the guy who has been acting antagonistic towards him from the start. It's true they had some friendly moments in the show already, though, and I'm sure they will grow closer as time goes on.
