This is an obvious one, but hypocrisy. Conservatives who suddenly care about Hillary's e-mail but have never showed any interest in gov't transparency - they tend to be the loudest ones who demand that Chelsea (Bradley) Manning have death by firing squad and Edward Snowden is a traitor. Like fuck you, you don't give a shit about transparency in the gov't.

And those naked statues of Trump that liberals are laughing over. I mean, no matter how much you hate Trump and how difficult it is to muster sympathy for him, if body shaming isn't okay, it ISN'T OKAY. It wouldn't be funny if the naked statues are of Hillary Clinton, and it's not funny when it's Trump, either.

I have to say that I have been very happy to see that most of the political people I follow have been making that point about the Trump statue, with more than a little vociferocity.

Yep. Agreed on this.

The "traditional family values" one is a perfect example of that kind of blatant hypocrisy, too. That's a BIG issue with me. All these politicians who go on and on about the "eeeeevils" of same-sex marriage while having affairs of their own (and sometimes with someone of their same sex at that!*), or who excuse someone they're friends with for having an affair because "he's a good Christian and just made a slip" when they're willing to go roast someone else for doing the same thing. Those people just really, truly need to shut the fuck up.

*I know that people argue that some of the most openly homophobic people tend to be those who are struggling with their own sexuality, though, so that could explain some of that, too. I still think it sucks when those people pass laws trying to restrict people from doing things, or judging people for things, that they themselves are doing on the down low, but I can also understand where that internal struggle would be a very difficult one to deal with, too, so...

Or if they have divorced, sometimes several times. But it's those nasty gays who'll destroy the sanctity of marriage!

Or that jewelry place that posted their rejection of Ivanka Trump on the internet. Donald Trump scares the shit out of me; that still was in no way okay.

Mmhm. Whatever issues one might have with a politician themselves, their families should be left out of all of that crap. I really do feel for families of politicians with the craziness they have to put up with sometimes.

I think Ivanka has pretty willingly taken on a role as a surrogate for her father. I think what the jewelry did was deeply cynical and self-promote-y, but Ivanka seems to me to be pretty fair game to criticize.

... Naked Trump statue? I am so glad I haven't seen/heard of this. And yeah, his body is one thing that doesn't deserve mockery; plenty of people look like him (if I'm gonna judge his looks I'll start with his hair, which presumably he has more control over unless the jokes are true and it's a separate sentient organism) and he's just another flabby old white dude (flabby white girl here so not like I can throw stones) but his policies (and lack thereof) and his prejudices and validation of the racism/xenophobia/sexism/general grossness of his supporters definitely deserve more censure (and horror and mockery.)
