I think that part, especially the delivery, was a parody of how the writers kept doing just that. The delivery was so /sarcastic/.

And it baffled me when they would change that food because one, they kept it in when Brock was shown making them so apparently it's ok then, and two, they're very easy to get in the United States. You can get onigiri at the discount grocery by me.

You live in a very special place and I envy you. I love onigiri, and you definitely cannot get it everywhere in the United States. I live in a large diverse city and not even the Asian markets have it.
