(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)Those people usually list themselves as "vers/bottom" and "vers/top" around here. Definitely weeds things out easier! It's also more honest for those "90/10" types haha, since I know they exist.
Also...whut? Jesus the moment someone would list themselves as "vers" on Grindr around here without truly meaning it, they would hate it, because if they're strongly looking for one or the other you're pretty much guaranteed by the Laws Of Gay Karma to get the exact opposite position to what you're looking for lol.
I have heard that certain areas tend to be more densely populated with certain "positions" than others. My place seems to be vers paradise, and a friend of mine complains that the area of LA he lives in is home to every bottom within a 100 mile radius lol.
Bottoms are more common than tops, always, vers are pretty common, and tops are rarest. Good tops are the rarest of them all. Lots of tops are...to borrow this term, "fuckboys" unfortunately. They know tops are in demand and they think they're hot shit because of it. :P

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)But yeah, in places with a whole lot of bottoms people list themselves as vers to not be associated with certain stereotypes or to stand out from the crowd and go fishing for what they want. I can't really blame them, especially when listing yourself as a bottom comes with certain expectations from idiots, but on the other hand it makes the whole "there's more vers than anything else" like some people claim not quite true either at least in my experience.
...which makes it kind of ironic that everyone complains about people being characterized as bottoms as "unrealistic" when actually "realistically" having 50% of your characters be 100% tops is the most unrealistic thing happening and everyone ignores it because top-straight is the standard, lol
