That's mostly me, too.

I have the utmost sympathy for anyone with a shitty childhood, but it runs out pretty damn quickly when a person milks the fuck out of it and uses it as an excuse for their own shitty behavior.

Also, it really is hard to trust people when no one has ever really taught you how to trust by example.
