I'd hate Hunk/Shay to become an official couple because I hated Shay's "I'm going to betray my family and leave my brother to die under a pile of rocks because this guy I met yesterday told me about an appealing vague new concept called ~freedom~." I don't ship Klance and the fandom sounds terrifying, but I'd prefer that to develop and become canon than Hunk/Shay. But if I said that someone would probably accuse me of making excuses not to like it because neither of them are "pretty."

eh, their planet got better, she wouldn't betray her family.

They had the most romantic potential through this shared philosphy/inspiration, even if it was the trite message of "an outsider showing the oppressed what they should rebel and be ~free". I doubt anybody cares enough about the pairing either way. Maybe Hunk fans do, because she was important to showcase his qualities.
