This is a very, to use your word, bland way of looking at characters like him. Not talking much and not being a source of humor means they're bland, especially if they're a pretty boy, wah wah I hear it in every fandom. He's one of my favorites because when he does speak up he says things that are on point and calls the other characters out on their dumb shit. And I haven't set a single foot in the fandom, so nothing there has colored my perspective.
