Anyone been to Bangkok?

[personal profile] supermanda 2016-08-22 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm living in Town in Town for a while.

Found a great place to eat, and another to have cold drinks. Both are not even 5 minutes away from my apartment by walking, and going to both places once is enough to feed me all day. Probably around $3 total!

I am wondering if there are any other areas near Town in Town I can get to in terms of food. Especially grocery stores. I'm a vegetarian too, and I have no kitchen so it's best I buy stuff that doesn't need heat to taste better.

I'm so new here, I know nothing! But I love it here so far.

I recommend this article:

Petchaburi Soi 5 is my fav. I recommend going in the evening because that's when all the stalls will be open.
During daytime, stick close to universities if you wanna eat good and cheap.

I also recommend buying heaps and heaps of fruits from marketplaces. Both tasty and cheap - you might need utensils for some of the stuff.
I'd honestly avoid grocery stores if you're not gonna be cooking, and just eat out. But do try and buy some of the juices and dry snacks.

I've never been, but I hear one night there and the world's your oyster.

I was there a couple years ago! I remember it being SUPER vegetarian friendly, presumably due to the number of Buddhists. Super yummy food. I don't know much about the supermarkets and such though, alas. Good luck and have fun!
