From what I've heard, in the original edit of Suicide Squad, Joker throws Harley out of a helicopter to try and kill her. In the edited, they make it look like he did it to try and save her.

Having seen the movie...how would that make sense? He's just spent considerable time and (probably) money scheming to break her out only to kill her just when he succeeded?

And even if he did want to kill her (the rest of that movie made no sense so why not), keeping her in that helicopter was the easiest way to do it, rather than throwing her out...
