What are your favorite domesticated animal breeds. As many as you like.

The quick answer is I'm a cat person, but it's kind of interesting to see a list like that, with the bits about their wild ancestors. My imagination is kind of stuck on "feral goats" though lol some animals are so hard to imagine "wild". That is, most farm livestock type animals.

Oh, wait, that's only semidomesticated/routinely captive-bred/unclear. Never mind.

I'm really amused by Fancy Rats and Fancy Hamsters. I see these labels in the pet store and thing "Hmmm, do you have any Regular Hamsters for us non-fancy people?"

Dogs: Belgian Malinois
Cat: Ragdoll
Horse: Arabian
Chicken: Rhode Island Red
Cow: Highland cattle
Goat: Pygmy Goats

Belgian Malinois are SO GREAT omg

(I have way too many favorite dog breeds to list them all, and mutts are amazing too)

Cats: Siamese
Horse: American Paint Horse
Cockatiel: Lutino

The only animal I have had appreciable pet experience with is cats. I wish I could have a Munchkin, but even if I got a whole stack of money that would allow for me to have a cat, I'd probably go to a shelter and end up with simple moggy.

Dogs: Tibetan Mastiff, Pit Bull, Siberian Husky, Malamute.

Cats: Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, Siberian, Tortoiseshell cats(Not really a breed, but they do have quite a Tortie-tude, lol)

I also have an appreciation for Horses, Pigs, Sheep, Goats and Sugar Gliders (Do Semi-Domestic/Not Domestic but kept as pets count?)
