What...is even the point of designing a website? It kinda sounds like that's just a stock template where you can change the colors and font and not much else...

Did you talk to your client about possibly using a different domain name?

It kind of is that. Literally.

You have the option to insert snippets of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but even that is kind of tightly reigned in. The only way, as far as I've seen, to inject any sort of style is to make a background image that lines up with the elements of the template. But I don't like that, man, because an image isn't responsive.

I've talked to them, but they're not too concerned. It's my issue more than theirs, lol, which makes me feel silly for being so annoyed. But I don't like not being able to do the things I want to do.

I understand! If the client is satisfied with the end result, that's what matters. But I can understand being frustrated that your creativity is seriously limited by the tools you've been given.

Do you do a lot of web design? Is it a hobby, or a career, or a side-job?

This is a super late response, but I don't do a whole lot of it! It's really more of a hobby; I just happened to have someone ask me to help them out.

I'd like to turn it into something more, however.

Then good luck with it! :)
