Re: Teen Wolf 3A

I hated it because it wasn't being driven by the characters we already loved.

The Alpha Pack as a concept was stupid & included the creation of needless characters. Kali & her boyfriend? Useless. The boyfriend dies pretty early on, too, so it's not like he really added anything to the story other than to give Kali a reason to hate Scott's pack, even though Deucalion's the one that killed him. (I think? I haven't seen 3A since it aired and I didn't hate it at the time, but that is when the fandom became less fun & the influx of new characters being prioritized over the ones I already cared about really started to grate.)

Not to mention Deucalion's blindness being cured & Scott & Derek deciding to let him go because...now that he's not physically disabled, I guess he's no longer evil & he shouldn't have to be held accountable for his actions? I mean honestly, what the fuck was that?

The Alpha Twins and their fusion dance? The dumbest thing. (I've seen photos of the French beast from the season 5 flashbacks, and admittedly, that looks even dumber, but again. I only watched through the first episode of 3B because it was on during the school year & because my interest was waning.)

I'm gonna have to agree with the anon upthread too. Cora was a terrible addition. I love Adelaide Kane, but Cora didn't add anything to the story and her existence threw my perception of Derek & the fire off. There were 11 people in the house fire and 8 died, so if Peter & Cora survived, who was the third? How much younger is Cora than Derek & Laura that she wouldn't have been in school while they were so as not to be home during the fire? She's supposed to be what? 16 like Scott & crew? And Derek's supposed to be ??? Maybe 22? So if he's fifteen when the house goes up in flames, Cora should be nine, or you know, a third grader. Was she home sick with the flu? Cora's existence created more questions than it answered, honestly, and whenever he was criticized about it or questioned about Derek's backstory, Jeff Davis would react like he was flabbergasted that fans would even WANT to know things like his age or the circumstances of the house fire that killed 8 people or what that means the makeup of the family was. Especially since Derek thinks she died in the fire, so...are there four people that survived the house fire? And if so, why would Cora have been recorded as deceased if they didn't actually have her remains?

I don't know, OP. If you don't think about it too hard, 3A is a fun romp, but there are a lot of valid criticisms of the season aside from just "Jennifer = female villain + stays dead. Peter & Gerard & Deucalion = male villains = get to live."

It's very clearly stated that she was 11 when the fire happened, was 17 during season 3 and a later season will tell us that Derek was at a basketball game at the school during the fire -- and is supposed to be 23/24-ish.

And I guess I just didn't feel like old characters were getting the shaft for all these new characters, but ymmv.

THIS. And she...ran off to South America? A third grader? What? It was so stupid.
