This is so true. I am so over tumblr trying to """"protect"""" people they have no responsibilities over and shame people for liking relationships that are fucked up, less than perfect, or even impossible. Some people just might find some stuff aesthetically pleasing or the character interactions interesting, and you're right about the younger people eventually growing out of romanticizing it... but even if they don't it's their own business and their own life choices to make.

I really hate how now tumblr even has a hate boner over rival shipping. Apparently any sign of competitiveness between two characters or two characters not agreeing or being super nice and supportive to each other 100% of the time is somehow super abusive and good enough reason to shame shippers and bash characters.
