Yup, pretty much, from what I understand.

I hate it because it not only undermines what I love most about RD's character (that she is sporty and tomboyish but is still feminine) and it reinforces silly gender binary expectations. And there's literally no other reason to headcanon it than that she's a tomboy, that's it. I feel like part of the internet thinks you can't be somewhat masculine and still be female, or feminine and male. :/

As a lifelong tomboy myself, I would've LOVED to have had a character like RD when I was growing up. It would've been so nice to see tomboyishness portrayed in a positive way rather than something that needed to be fixed.
