Pern was my first series that I was really into as a kid. I still love it in a nostalgia way, although Brekke and F'nor have been ruined for me as characters (which makes me sad as they were faves). I still do reread my favorite passages from time to time, since I can mostly ignore the crap I don't like.

I've never given Todd a chance. I was irritated when I first heard he was writing Pern because Anne had been so heavyhanded about fanfiction, which was the first thing that soured Pern for me. Then, when I heard he was focused on Watch-whers, my interest further declined. I've since heard some things in the books that sound intriguing so I may one day read the books.

Still sad Todd gets to play in the universe officially. I'd actually rather there was a movie or TV series that was a fix-it because I think that would be fun to see.

Yeah. Some of the story lines make me perk up a little but I've not heard anything good about his writing, when I do the random page-skimming test I am eh....

would much prefer a fix it tv series.
