I'm pretty sure Lion has something to do with Pink Diamond. The crystal gems seem pretty chill about the giant magic lion, so I think they know what it is and the full explanation is somehow dangerous to Steven.

So yeah, I don't know what you mean exactly but I think you're heading for disappointment.

That's literally the laziest route the show could take, so you're probably right.

They don't know who/what Lion is although they assume it's Rose's business, I'm pretty sure it was established in the beginning.

So that's why Pearl didn't know Rose had a lion. The lions were like Rose's secret second family!

He knows that she's had relationships before. When your SO has a dating history that spans millennia, it's best to just assume that anything's possible.

That's true! Who knows how many people she'd been in a relationship with?

(Though I'm not sure I remember any relationships being canon for her pre-Greg?)

Word is that she could have had a human child without giving up her physical form, but in order for Steven to be half-Gem, he needed a Gem.

Also, if she could shapeshift a female reproductive system, presumably she could have shapeshifted a male one as well. Nothing saying that Lion couldn't have had two mommies.

Those...are fair points. Hmm.
