my siblings and I all sang "all around the cathedral, the saints and opossums look down as she sells her wares." I don't know which one of us misheard it first, but we all found that hilarious.

I honestly thought that's what the line was when I was little - like, there were just a lot of opossums perched on top of the cathedral, among the statues, looking down. (I guess because I grew up in a part of the US with a fair number of opossums, this didn't seem weird to me?)
