My apartment's broken A/C still isn't fixed (like it was supposed to be today), and I came home again to another 90 degree apartment. My cats hadn't touched their water bowls and had barely eaten any food and were lethargic, so after calling Management again to request someone fix this ASAP and trying in vain to get my cats to drink something, I said fuck it and took them to the vet's office to be rehydrated boarded until the A/C is fixed.

I keep tearing up when I think of them suffering. My poor little boys. I should have boarded them last night, I shouldn't have made them suffer through another day in this heat. Every day I've been told, "it will be fixed first thing tomorrow morning," so I had thought this was going to be over before we knew it.

It was also really traumatic for them to get in their carriers, and the cat who's the most bonded with me actually hissed at me for the first time ever. I feel so bad for upsetting him and my other cat so much.

To make things worse, I just read a horrifying Yelp review of another vet's office, which had pictures of this person's bunnies after being boarded with them -- their cages hadn't been cleaned for days, they had no food or water, and they were sitting in filth. I cried for those poor little bunnies. :(

Ohhhhhh :(. Poor babies. I can understand feeling guilty, even though obviously everything with the A/C isn't your fault. Hopefully management gets their butts in gear and gets that fixed for you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I'm glad your cats are being taken care of, and as for the one hissing at you, well, luckily, pets are pretty forgiving :). May everything be sorted out so they can be back in their nice-and much cooler-home with you very soon.

As for the story about those bunnies, ugh, how awful. I don't blame you for crying-I get emotional seeing those commercials about rescuing abused animals. There's a special place in hell for creeps who treat animals like that.
