"Did you know that ___________ is actually really bad for you?"

I get it. Everything is bad for me. Let me eat my ice cream in peace.

I actually had someone (who I had just met) tell me that being a vegetarian was bad for me. I think she was tipsy.

It never ceases to amaze me how much people want to get on strangers' cases about what they eat. I have diseases that involve food/eating so I see a LOT of it and I'm literally always like "how did you get so self important and entitled?"

So I was diagnosed with multiple auto-immune diseases when I was 13. At that point, I'd never drank, consumed any soda, regular or diet, with anything approaching regularity (my parents first started allowing me to order soda at restaurants when I was 14), eaten a microwave meal, or consumed aspartame in any meaningful capacity.

SO MANY PEOPLE want to talk about how my incurable illnesses are preventable if only I'd "lived right." It's so exhausting.

TLDR I agree with you.

What is bad or good for you changes all the time. Eventually someone is going to tell me water is actually bad for me.

Water is really bad for you if you drown in it. Or if you drink lots of purified water. Or if you drink over 6 litres all at once. Many fun ways how water can be bad for you, you just have to search long enough.

Everyone who has drunk water has eventually died (or eventually will).

Then again, the same can be said for everyone who has ever been born. :)

It's like, if this hamburger is going to kill me, just let it. At least I'll be happier if I eat this delicious hamburger.

I love this so much. People who come up to you and tell you you're fat. I'm always tempted to drop everything, gasp in shock and tell them "Oh my God, you're right, I never noticed!" but I'm pretty sure that would fly right over their heads.

God yes. I am fully aware that this cake is not healthy for me at all, I am however still going to eat it because I like cake and I want to at least try to enjoy life.

Also I have a burning hatred for a lot of those 'how x food is actually super-terrible for you' documentaries because they come off as ridiculously scare-mongery to me, like they aren't trying to help people eat better they just want to terrify them into giving up a treat they like completely.
